Coastal Service Project

November 6, 2016 @ 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

AIChE is volunteering with the Coastal Fund to restore the environment around Storke Ranch!

Get some community service hours while removing weeds from sensitive habitats.

Wear clothes that can get dirty. We also recommend wearing pants and closed toed shoes.

Here are the detailed directions to the project site:

Directions from UCSB: Take El Colegio to Storke Road; turn right on Storke and then take the first right after Francisco Torres onto Willowgrove; at the round-about, go right onto Sweetwater; turn left onto Coolbrook after Sweetwater curves around; immediate left onto Silkberry – look for the picnic area on the left. Parking is limited, so please carpool.

To get here by bike: East of Francisco Torres and Camino Corto, on the north side of El Colegio Rd, past the Santa Ynez apartments, there is a bike path that goes north down through an open space that passes between Storke Ranch and Family Student Housing – take this path until it hits Phelps Rd. Go left on Phelps; turn left again at the first street (Bayberry); left onto Shadowbrook; immediate right onto Coolbrook; and right on Silkberry. The picnic area where we are meeting will be on the right.
