UCSB AIChE is privileged to host Arnie Smith, the Executive Director of Process Technology in the Energy & Chemicals Division of Fluor Corporation. Fluor is among the world’s largest engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, maintenance, and project management companies, with annual revenues in the tens of billion dollars.
Arnie will be sharing insights and lessons he has learned over his career at Fluor, The Process Group, Catalytica, Bechtel Petroleum, and Exxon, as well as tips on what companies look for in young engineers. He founded a chemical engineering consulting firm, sits on the Board of Directors for three different companies, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the process design of chemical, energy, and petroleum systems. As such, this information session is a tremendous opportunity to hear valuable advice from a leading chemical engineer in industry. The talk is not limited to chemical engineers – UCSB AIChE highly encourages attendance by all majors. Dinner will be provided.
