NuSil Chief Operating Officer Jim Smith will be visiting UCSB to give a presentation this Monday, April 6th in ENGR. II 1519 from 5:45 – 7 pm. His presentation will focus on career lessons, leadership, and expectations of an engineer today. This is an excellent opportunity, especially because NuSil is gearing up to increase its relationship with UCSB, including a plant tour on April 10th. Be sure to represent our class and give the best possible impression to a promising connection and potential employer.
Below is a synopsis of Jim Smith’s career, to give some insight into the experience he has to share:

Prior to joining NuSil in 2013, Jim spent 25 years at Dow Corning in various executive roles, including Vice President of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations, Specialty Chemicals Business Vice President of Manufacturing and Business Management, Midland Site Manager and Director of Global Logistics.
Jim has diverse and proven global leadership experience in business & commercial management, manufacturing and supply chain logistics as well as extensive knowledge in silane & silicone chemistry and processing.
