Welcome to the official website for UC Santa Barbara’s chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. We are proud to be one of the most active and wide-reaching engineering clubs on campus. Every year, UCSB AIChE strives to promote professional development within our student body through three main objectives: (1) Accelerate future career paths by bringing companies to campus to recruit our talent, (2) Emphasize the importance of fundamental research in our discipline by hosting faculty seminars, and (3) Strengthen the relationship between engineering students and the surrounding community through social outreach and networking events.

Some of the many activities organized by UCSB AIChE include industry information sessions, plant tours, research seminars, community restoration projects, and our annual Lunch with Faculty. For the 2016-17 school year, we aim to strengthen and expand the connections between UCSB and industry, promote early involvement of underclassmen in extracurricular experience, and develop a strong ChE Car design to compete at the Western Regionals conference in April 2017.

We invite you to explore our website, where we provide chemical engineering news, job opportunities, a calendar of all of our events, and an online store where you can purchase your very own UCSB Chemical Engineering apparel. We also welcome you to read more about our officers, all of whom are stellar leaders with plenty of experience and advice for those looking to get more involved with AIChE. Whether you’re a current or prospective undergraduate or graduate student, please do not hesitate to contact any of us – our doors are always open!

Sincerely,

Francis Cunningham & Isaac Robledo
