Our Mission
UC Santa Barbara’s chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers is proud to be one of the most active and wide-reaching engineering organizations on campus. Every year, AIChE UCSB promotes student professional development. We build future career paths by bringing companies to recruit our talent, emphasize the importance of fundamental research in our discipline by hosting faculty seminars, and strengthen the relationship between engineering students and the surrounding community through social outreach and networking events.
Some of the many activities organized by AIChE UCSB have included industry information sessions, plant tours, research seminars, community restoration projects, and lunches with faculty. Our goals are to strengthen and expand the connections between UCSB and industry, promote early involvement of underclassmen in extracurricular experience, and provide opportunities for students to learn technical skills through projects.
We invite you to explore our website, a central location with details on chemical engineering events, career information, and internship resources. We also welcome you to contact us through our official AIChE UCSB social media or other channels if you have any questions, comments, or a need for advice—whether you’re a current or prospective undergraduate or graduate student, our doors are always open!
